How to Watch: Crew vs. Inter Miami

Everything you need to know for the Crew’s first ever home match against Inter Miami.

MLS: Columbus Crew SC at Inter Miami CF Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The international break is in the books and Lower.com Field will return decked in black and gold for Columbus Crew soccer again this weekend. It’s the 29th game of the MLS regular season for the Crew as the team hosts Inter Miami in the first encounter between these two clubs in Ohio. The match starts a five-game stretch for the Black & Gold in 15 days that will determine the team’s MLS Cup playoff destiny.

Columbus has not played since Oct. 3, a 3-0 loss to Philadelphia Union putting a dent towards the Crew’s playoff hopes. Head coach Caleb Porter’s side will need an epic unbeaten run and help from other clubs to push the Black & Gold from their current standing of 10th place into that coveted seventh position. The Crew’s form at home has been good of late with four consecutive wins in all competitions.

Since Inter Miami’s win against Columbus on Sept. 11, the Herrons have won just once in their last six games. Phil Neville’s side is currently riding a five-match losing streak with three consecutive 1-0 losses on the road that keeps Miami in 11th place. The status of this game for both Inter and the Crew is the same with both labeling it as a “must-win”.

This match will also be a return for one of the Crew’s greatest players, Federico Higuain. This will be the first time Higuain plays in Columbus since leaving the club after the 2019 season.
