As jersey week around SB Nation’s soccer sites continues, Massive Report begins a bracket to see what Columbus Crew SC ans think is the best jersey of all-time. To see what Drew Niccum believes is the winner, click here. For what Tyler Fisher believes is the worst jersey, click here.
What’s the best and most enjoyable way to determine what’s the best Columbus Crew jersey and end any debate once and for all? A bracket that’s what.
The Massive Report staff collaborated to determine 16 favorite uniforms that should be up for consideration and then each member voted on their eight favorites from that selection. The top eight uniforms were determined and seeded based on the number of votes it got. Over the week, our readers can vote in our best Crew Jersey bracket to determine what is the best look the Black & Gold ever sported. Since this is Jersey Week at SB Nation and not jersey weeks or months, we limited to the bracket to eight jerseys.
Without further ado, here are the first-round matchups:
1 - 2017 Yellow Acura vs. 8 - 2010 Black Glidden

Our first matchup pits two uniforms from the last decade with two different sponsors. The 2017 yellow Acura kit was the top-voted kit according to our staff members with that checkered side making it stand out as one of the best yellow kits in Crew history. The 2010 black Glidden kit stood out with the yellow pinstripes and yellow accents on the shoulders. The Crew made the MLS Cup playoffs in both kits.

Our next matchup takes voters back almost two decades with the original 1996 home kit taking on the striped jersey worn before the turn of the millennium. Some believe you can’t go wrong with the original and our writers said this was their fourth-favorite kit. This white and yellow piece might be the most unique Crew jersey outside of the ‘For Columbus’ and Parley kits. It makes sense why this is our four-seed versus five-seed matchup.

This is a good matchup and the only one that is truly the present vs. the past. The brand new black Nationwide kit received widespread approval from Columbus when it was released before this season fans from the new local sponsor to the design of the jersey with the subtle grey dots and the yellow shoulder stripes. It could become an iconic kit. But people like to go retro all the way and that early 2000s yellow kit with the Snickers sponsorships is an iconic Black & Gold look.

In a stunning turn of events, the Massive Report writers’ votes pitted the two jerseys from the Crew’s Eastern Conference title seasons against each other. We have that black Barbasol number that was written about by Massive Report own Drew Niccum as the Crew’s best ever jersey.
The tiny details of the checkered collar features and the hidden surprise on the inside of the jersey make the black Barbasol kit a favorite. On the other end though, you have the jersey the club wore for its most important game ever and greatest moment ever, the 2008 MLS Cup final.
