The penultimate regular season game is here as the Columbus Crew makes its return down to Florida. Wednesday night, the Crew play Orlando City SC in the highlight midweek game in the final week of the Major League Soccer regular season. Wednesday night’s game is a rescheduled contest from early October after two positive COVID-19 tests in the Black & Gold camp caused the match to be suspended. The winner of this match will secure a home playoff game for the 2020 MLS Cup playoffs in mid-November. This is also the Crew’s final road regular season game as they seek to avoid a winless away record.

Columbus had a tough run of form in October with just one victory in five matches. The Black & Gold got November started off with a 2-1 victory in the snow and wind against top of the table Philadelphia Union. The Crew has already clinched a playoff spot and is still alive to finish in first in the Eastern Conference. Even with a victory against Orlando, the Crew will have only won games in two cities for the 2020 regular season.

For Orlando City, it’s been an amazing season. Led by Nani and Chris Mueller, the Lions followed up an MLS is Back Tournament silver medal by clinching the club its first-ever playoff berth. OCSC has lost just two matches to Inter Miami since the regular season restart in home markets and is still alive for a first-round bye. It’s been a 2020 to remember for Oscar Pareja and his squad and it seeks a strong finish.
