Supporters’ XI: FC Cincinnati

Choose who you want to start against FC Cincinnati this Wednesday.

Ralph Schudel

After Sunday’s postponement, due to two Columbus Crew staff members testing positive for COVID-19, the Black & Gold now look ahead to FC Cincinnati on Wednesday. As of publishing of this article, this next match is expected to be played as scheduled.

Columbus will travel to Nippert Stadium to face a team that is starving for offensive production, not having scored a goal in the past six matches. Most recently, Cincinnati lost 1-0 to Toronto FC on a 29th minute goal by former Columbus forward Patrick Mullins.

The Crew will be on the mends still, with the injury report showing Lucas Zelarayan, Eloy Room and Darlington Nagbe unavailable for Wednesday’s match. Those notable absences, and the Black & Gold’s recent run of form with two losses and a draw in their past three matches, leaves a lot of questions.

With the once staunch defense giving up seven in the last three games, does Aboubacar Keita get the starting nod to give Josh Williams a break? Does rookie Aidan Morris’ recent run of form give him the starting job over a healthy Fatai Alashe? Do Derrick Etienne Jr. or Emmanuel Boateng get to start on the wing over Youness Mokhtar and Luis Diaz, who have both regularly started throughout September?

We want you to answer those questions, and more, by choosing who you want to start in the next Supporters’ XI. We will take the choices you have made and compare them to the starting 11 from a Massive Report contributor.
