Columbus Crew SC need points. The team hasn’t won a game in nearly two months and playoff chances are getting remote. Currently in 10th place in the Eastern Conference, the Black & Gold have a chance to climb over with place Orlando City when they play at MAPFRE tonight.
The Crew’s attack has struggled and is now weakened even further. There will be no Gyasi Zardes, Federico Higuain and now David Accam is sidelined with a hamstring injury. That leaves only Pedro Santos as the key attacker remaining. His four goals and two assists are second in each category on the team.
Orlando City changed the roster again this offseason and it hasn’t quite come together. Nani has made an impact with eight goals and four assists, but the rest of the offense hasn’t done much while the defense has given up goals at inopportune times.

Columbus Crew: The list of absence is long. Harrison Afful is suspended this game after a red card against Kansas City. David Accam joins the injured after he suffered a hamstring strain last week. Milton Valenzuela and Federico Higuain are both out with torn ACLs. Josh Williams is still struggling with the nagging pain in his right foot. Wil Trapp, Gyasi Zardes and Zack Steffen (soon to be officially transferred) are with the United States Men’s National Team. Jonathan Mensah is with the Ghanian National Team
Orlando City: Midfielder Cristian Higuita is out with a hamstring injury. Goalkeeper Adam Grinwis and outside back Joao Moutinho are questionable. Kamal Miller and Will Johnson are with Canada in the Gold Cup. Jhegson Méndez was called into the Ecuadorian team for Copa America.
