The United State Men’s National Team and the Mexican Men’s National Team will renew their regional rivalry on Tuesday night. While this friendly game does not count for anything, it is always intense when the Red, White and Blue meet El Tri on the soccer pitch.
The U.S. is still without a full-time coach, although it seems we’re getting closer to one being named. Interim head coach Dave Sarachan continues to lead the Yankees and once again will go with a young an experimental roster that includes Columbus Crew SC goalkeeper Zack Steffen, forward Gyasi Zardes and midfielder Wil Trapp who continues to be the captain of the national team with this group.
The U.S. comes into this game after a 2-0 loss to Brazil on Friday night at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Both Steffen and Trapp started that game, while Zardes came in during the second half. Mexico also comes into this game on the back of a friendly loss, falling 4-1 to Uruguay on Friday in Houston, Texas.
