MLS: Columbus Crew SC at Orlando City SC Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Columbus Crew SC have struggled since late May. The team is 1-3-3 in their last nine games over that stretch as they’ve drifted away from the top of the Eastern Conference. Today’s game is the rare chance at home to change their form. After today’s home game against Orlando City SC, Crew SC will play three of their next four on the road, including stops against the Red Bulls and Atlanta. Three points is key for the Black & Gold.

Orlando is trying to revive a season that has gone sideways. Jain Kreis has been fired and Jame O’Connor is in after a losing streak that eventually extended to nine games. The new coach broke the streak with a win after trying to reset the game plan and the rotation. Players like former Crew SC winger Justin Meram and Joe Bendik have been benched as they try and climb back into the playoff picture.

Updates:

90’+ Crew SC play the corner out to Trapp about 30 yards from goal. He blasts one into the top corner! Beautiful!

86’ Mullins goes down in the box and it’s called a penalty kick. Zardes converts from the spot. 2-2.

83’ Mike Grella coming in for Crew SC. He will replace Valenzuela.

76’ Bendik makes a diving save on a Mullins header. That was a great chance for Crew SC!

73’ The 13th Crew SC corner is played to Afful, who volleys it over the goal.

68’ Two subs for Crew SC. Patrick Mullins makes his Black & Gold debut while Edward Opoku makes his MLS debut. Hansen and Argudo out.

62’ Steffen saves Crew SC from going down two. A 5-on-2 counter leads to a shot that the goalkeeper just gets a hand on. Rebound falls to Orlando but a hand ball is called.

59’ Pinho taps it home as Crew SC get caught on the counter. 2-1 to Orlando.

51’ Hansen just roasts Rocha on the outside and delivers a low ball into the box. Zardes with the heel flick that clips the back post and goes in! 1-1.

46’ The second half has begun.

45’ Crew SC gets Afful into a great position streaking into the box, but he hits a shot out for a throw in.

43’ Yellow card on Kljestan as he chops down Hansen.

32’ Edwards goes down again. #OCSC are going to bring in Joe Bendik in goal.

24’ Jonathan attempted a bicycle kick and hits Rocha. There’s a scuffle in the box as Orlando isn’t happy about the play. Yellow cards to Jonathan and Schuler.

16’ Orlando City takes a 1-0 lead. Kljestan is left wide open in the box and has an easy one-time finish.

13’ Trapp floats a ball into the box for Afful who hits a volley that is just over the crossbar. That was special!
