Game thread: Columbus Crew SC vs. Montreal Impact

90+4 minute: ZARDES SAVES THE WIN!

90+2 minute: Luis Argudo has gone down and penalty upcoming.

85th minute: Raheem Edwards ties the game with a volley. The Impact have been strong in the second have and have been rewarded. Daniel Lovetz provided the cross.

80th minute: A massive save from Zack Steffen on Victor Cabrera’s point blank header to keep the 2-1 lead. Incredible.

77th minute: Daniel Lovitz hits the cross bar as Montreal continues to press for the tying goal. Crew SC on their heals.

59th minute: Ignacio Piatti scores for Montreal, to bring the Impact back into the game. 2-1 Crew SC lead with 30 minutes to go.

56th minute: Matteo Mancosu gets behind the defense, but his shot is blocked by Zack Steffen and cleared by Lalas Abubakar.

47th minute: Milton Valenzuela nearly gets the 2nd half off to a great start, but Evan Bush parried the tight angled shot away.

Halftime: Crew SC cruising in the first half. The Impact have had a few chances, but they’ve been from distance and haven’t troubled Steffen.

15th minute: Columbus doubles the lead with Gyasi Zardes finishing off a loose ball off an Artur header that hit the bar. The first Crew SC player to score in his first two games.

12th minute: Crew SC break through on a Federico Higuain penalty. Jukka Raitala brough down Lalas Abubakar on a corner.

It was a milestone goal for The Maestro.

7th minute: Jeisson Vargas rings the crossbar as the Impact nearly strike first.



Crew SC: Josh Williams and Adam Jahn are officially listed as questionable. Mike Grella and Gaston Sauro are still recovering from long-term injuries.

Montreal Impact: Defenders Zakaria Diallo, Kyle Fisher, and forward Anthony Jackson-Hamel are out.
