How to watch: United States vs. Germany

SheBelieves Cup kicks off as the United States look to set the tone for 2019 Women’s World Cup qualification.

The United States and Germany begin play in the SheBelieves Cup on Thursday evening at MAPFRE Stadium. The third installment of the tournament features four of the top-10 teams in the FIFA world rankings.

Head coach Jill Ellis and her squad look to set the tone for World Cup Qualifying against 2016 Olympic champion Germany. CONCACAF qualifying for the U.S. begins this fall as they prepare to compete for a spot in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The U.S. Women have called MAPFRE Stadium home seven times with their last appearance being a send off match for legendary forward Heather O’Reilly. The Lady Yanks won by the commanding score of 9-0.

Germany comes into MAPFRE Stadium boasting a 9-2-1 record over its last 12 matches. In its nine wins Germany outscored opponents 32-3. In the three other contests, they were outscored 5-3.

Die Mannschaft return 14 players from its 2017 SheBelieves Cup roster and look upset the host U.S. on their home field.
