The 25 year old has been with Aberdeen since 2010 and has 19 appearances with the Scotland U-21s. Jack, the club’s captain, scored 11 goals in 196 appearances for Aberdeen. It was reported that Rangers was also in pursuit of Jack, but it appears he isn’t interested in joining the Glasgow club over a move to the United States.
Ryan Jack is a dynamic player. He possesses the offensive mindset of Federico Higuain and the defensive presence of Wil Trapp. He would fit in nicely with this squad and could be a potential successor to Higuain in the No. 10 role.
This move would be great for Columbus Crew SC as they can acquire Jack on a free transfer and not have to pay a fee to Aberdeen for his services.
The MLS transfer window closes on May 8th, but Columbus can sign a free transfer like Jack past the close of the window as long as he is out of contract.
