Full Columbus Crew SC schedule released

MLS announced the full schedule for each team for the 2017 season

MLS: Orlando City SC at Columbus Crew SC Joe Maiorana-USA TODAY Sports

Following the announcement that Columbus Crew SC would open the 2017 season at home against the Chicago Fire on March 4, Major League Soccer released the full regular season schedule for the new season on Thursday.

Now at 22 teams, each MLS team will play 34 games, 17 at home.

After the home opener, Crew SC go on the road for two games before closing out the opening month with back-to-back home games. For the second consecutive year, the Black & Gold will end the season on the road with a two-match trip against Orlando City SC and New York City FC.

Columbus fans will get to see the Fire and Toronto FC the most in 2017. The Men in Red and last year’s MLS Cup runners up each come to the Capital City twice with the Black & Gold going to their city once.

Crew SC will also face Orlando City three times, but only one of those games will occur at MAPFRE Stadium.

Columbus will face each of the remaining Eastern Conference clubs, D.C. United, Atlanta United, the Montreal Impact, the New England Revolution, New York City, the New York Red Bulls and the Philadelphia Union each twice, home and away, throughout the season.

Black & Gold fans also get a good look at the Western Conference clubs in person. Crew SC will host FC Dallas, the LA Galaxy, the Portland Timbers, the Seattle Sounders and Sporting Kansas City while traveling to face the Colorado Rapids, the Houston Dynamo, Minnesota United FC, Real Salt Lake, the San Jose Earthquakes and the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Columbus is set to be featured on nationally television twice in 2017, both at MAPFRE Stadium. The first match will come on April 1 against Orlando City On UniMas and the second will be Sept. 10 against Sporting Kansas City.
