After being only able to dress 17 players last weekend, Crew SC will have a near full compliment to choose from. Tony Tchani, Harrison Afful, and Justin Meram returned to town after the international date. Only Wil Trapp will be out.
The reinforcement come at the right time. Columbus is currently 8 points out of a playoff spot with 8 games to play. Cutting into those long odds will require a win tonight.
The opponen is perfect for Crew SC. The Vancouver Whitecaps have struggled mightily recently and especially on the road. They haven’t scored in three straight games and six straight games away from home. Even though Columbus hasn't been mighty at MAPFRE, the matchup is favorable
As Pedro Morales goes, so goes the Whitecaps. He leads the team in goals and assists, but he only has six a piece. Without the consistent contributions of their offensive spark plug, Vancouver has struggled.
Keys to the Match
- Back to Basics: With plenty of starters returning, Crew SC can play their game.
- Strong at the back: The return of Gaston Sauro presents a question: who starts in defense. Whoever it is, they can't let a punchless offense get a cheap goal.
- Leading from the front: Ola Kamara has fallen into a big slump. Either Kamara or Jahn has to provide, if not goals, danger from the striker position.
