After the success of the first edition of the Massive Report Book Club we are back with another edition. It's June, and that means Crew SC are about to enter US Open Cup play. To coincide with this, I've chosen Soccer in a Football World by David Wangerin.

Soccer in a Football World is a history of soccer in the US, starting from the earliest of days, through the soccer-boom of the NASL, the dark times that followed, and then the rebirth of domestic soccer with MLS (and, again, the dark times that followed). With the USOC upon us, the oldest soccer competition in the US, I thought now would be a great time to look back at the history of not only that competition, but of the game in our country in general.

So pick up a copy, start reading, and join the conversation either here in the comments or on Twitter with the hashtag #MRBookClub, and let's take a trip in to the sometimes murky past of Soccer in America together.
