Without the playoffs, Crew SC doesn’t have anything to play for in 2016. That means the coaching staff is putting on the lab coats and getting experimental. Some of the players who haven’t gotten a lot of time will get their chances. The results aren’t the focus anymore as the fringe players will get a chance to impress.
Several players are likely done for the season. Federico Higuain hasn’t been able to get over his abdominal soreness and likely played his last minutes of the season (and perhaps his Crew SC career). Cedrick Mabwati and Gaston Sauro have been limited due to nagging injuries and will be limited even if they suit up.
With the rotation, Ola Kamara gets more rest for his mysterious injury that was disclosed after the Chicago game. Adam Jahn has made the most of his time with Columbus with four goals in his 11 appearances for the team.
The rotation means that Cristian Martinez and Brad Stuver make their first starts for Crew SC.

Keys to the Match
The New Guys: The Crew SC lineup is going to look different. The key will be getting everyone on the same page quickly. The Red Bulls have a shield to play for and they won’t be holding back.
Pressed for time: Few things cause Crew SC as many problems with the Red Bulls press. Columbus must be prepared for wave after wave of pressure. Those passes have to quick so the offense isn’t trapped. Perhaps even looking direct off the counter.
Ola?: Is he injured or was he ready to go. Given Berhalter’s reticence to disclose injuries or problems, it’s unclear if Kamara was really injured or if there is a problem between the two.
