It's the second game in four days for Columbus Crew SC (5-6-5) as they go to Salt Lake City and face Real Salt Lake face Real Salt Lake (5-6-6) in a cross conference battle.
Real Salt Lake is shorthanded due to Alvaro Sabario's call up, suspensions to Demar Phillips and Javier Morales in addition to injuries to defenders Chris Schuler, Justen Glad, and Jamison Olave. The home side have also played twice in the past seven days with a home win against Sporting Kansas City and a Wednesday loss against New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena.
Crew SC has had the upper hand in the battles between the teams with Columbus coming out with a 10-5-2 record in their history. Columbus and Salt Lake tied 1-1 in 2014 at MAPFRE Stadium and the Black and Gold were destroyed in their last trip to Rio Tinto, a 4-0 loss in 2013.
