The People's Ratings: Columbus Crew SC vs. San Jose

New, 1 comment

There was one outlier in this week's ratings.

Bob Stanton-USA TODAY Sports

GK: Steve Clark: 6.62 (SD .87) - The rare bright spot in a lineup. Several good saves that kept the score down.

RB: Hector Jimenez 5.92 (1.16) - Was solid again even after the team went down a man.

RCB: Michael Parkhurst 5.67 (1.07) - Steadfast for most of the game, but getting beat by Wondolowski frustrates. He's not the first defender to have that happen.

LCB: Emanuel Pogatetz 6.25 (1.14) - The defacto leader of the defense again stood out, but like Parkhurst, he still struggled with Wondolowski's brief moment of invisibility.

LB: Waylon Francis 5.50 (.67) - Didn't push into the attack as much given the team was left shorthanded.

CM: Mohammed Saied 3.08 (1.93) - In a word, terrible. He looked a step slow in his very brief time on the field.

CM: Tony Tchani 5.42 (1.16) - Left to be a more attacking player rather than the linker he normally is. Didn't suit his game.

RW: Ethan Finlay 5.42 (1.16) - One of the many offensive players who struggled to create chances on the evening.

CAM: Federico Higuain 5.55 (.93) - Tireless work effort on the evening, but precious little to show for it.

LW: Justin Meram 5.25 (1.06) - Stretched to do too much and was often caught on the ball too long. Generally ineffective.

ST: Kei Kamara 5.92 (1.00) - Gamely tried to lead an offense that was short a player and behind. Could only muster flashes.

SUB 1: Kevan George 5.25 (.90) - Showed significant signs of rust after he subbed in to add presence to the midfield. He never really got up to speed.

SUB 2: Kristinn Steindórsson 5.08 (.90) - Didn't make much of an impact as the team hunted for anything on offense.

SUB 3: Aaron Schoenfeld 5.18 (.75) - Underwhelming, but that's very much like the rest of the offense on the night.

Coaching: Gregg Berhalter 5.17 (.94) - Execution and preparation were found to be lacking, but Saied's red card put him in a challenging spot that the team couldn't get out from under.

Officiating Crew 6.08 (1.62) - The voters may not have liked it, but the cards were appropriate and the officials managed the game pretty well.
