After a strange start to the season, Columbus Crew SC are on a normal schedule and look to take advantage. Last Saturday, the Black and Gold came out and dominated Orlando City SC, before a 34th minute red card and after. Columbus took home three points in a 3-0 victory and hope for a repeat performance this week.
The opponent this time around is the Philadelphia Union, who played two games in three days a week ago. The first was a 1-1 draw with New York City FC last Thursday followed by a 2-1 home defeat to the New England Revolution Sunday evening.
Philly is struggling to get going this season with a large number of injuries to key players and a giant question mark at goalkeeper. After it appeared Algerian international Rais M'Bolhi would be the starter, a series of very poor performances caused head coach Jim Curtin to bench the 28-year old. Now, the Union are relying on 2014 USL Goalkeeper of the Year, John McCarthy in the net.
Philadelphia is not in a good spot and it is up to Crew SC to take advantage.
Can the Black and Gold do that? Here's how you will find out.
