The People's Ratings: Columbus Crew SC v. New York Red Bull

The people have spoken and they aren't pleased.

Greg Bartram-USA TODAY Sports

The results are in and the people aren't happy. Nearly 100 people responded to our call to rate the team. I expected that there would be some low votes after a disappointing loss and the team vote averaged 5.71. Given that we set 6.0 as MLS average performance, it could have been worse. Many were impressed with right back Hernan Grana. He's the only Crew SC player to rate over 7. On the other side of the field, left back Chris Klute was the bottom rated player and the only one to score in the 4 range.

GK: Steve Clark: 6.15 - Many didn't ding him for the two goals he gave up. One was on a PK and the other was on a one on one situation.

RB: Hernan Grana 7.15 - The community man of the match. He created enough on offense to earn high marks.

RCB: Michael Parkhurst 5.34 - The captain had a rough outing with his giveaway gifting a golden chance to the visitors.

LCB: Emanuel Pogatetz 5.79 - Giving up a penalty may have dropped his rating, but ended up close to average.

LB: Chris Klute 4.51 - The lowest rated player on the team, he struggled mightily on both sides of the ball.

CM: Mohammed Saeid 6.10 - The Swede continued to impress, relatively speaking, in Trapp's absence.

CM: Tony Tchani 6.51 - The goal made a big impression as Tchani had the second highest rating on the team.

RW: Ethan Finlay 5.94 - The crowd wanted just a little bit more from Finlay, but he still outperformed his replacement.

CAM: Federico Higuain 5.30 - Getting sent off for dissent and killing any chance of a comeback, Pipa sits towards the bottom of our rankings.

LW: Kristinn Steindórsson 5.10 - Just didn't click on offense and was clear choice to be lifted early.

ST: Kei Kamara 6.03 - Judged to have put in a solid shift. Had a couple chances and held up the ball well.

SUB 1: Ben Speas 5.27 - Seen as an improvement over Steindórsson, but only a slight one.

SUB 2: Hector Jimenez 5.31 - Needing to make an impact to equalize, Jimenez didn't impress.

SUB 3: Aaron Schoenfeld 5.38 - Not much time to change the game; managed a single header.

Coaching: Gregg Berhalter 5.99 - Three missing starters meant fewer impact subs. His moves were seen as a mixed bag.

Officiating Crew 4.39 - Few people were pleased with Sorin Stoica and his crew.
