Current Roster

Crew SC's current roster stands at 24 players. They will likely want that number to be up to 30 by the time the regular season begins and today is a good time to begin adding to the current group.

Goalkeepers: Matt Lampson, Brad Stuver, Steve Clark
Defenders: Tyson Wahl, Chad Barson, Waylon Francis, Michael Parkhurst, Emanuel Pogatetz, Ben Sweat
Midfielders: Tony Tchani, Wil Trapp, Justin Meram, Ethan Finlay, Ben Speas, Kevan George, Federico Higuain, Hector Jimenez, Romain Gall, Ben Swanson, Mohammed Saeid, Kristinn Steindorsson
Forwards: Aaron Schoenfeld, Adam Bedell, Kei Kamara

Needs

Just by looking at the roster breakdown, it is apparent that Columbus needs to add players up front and on the back line. With only three true forwards on the roster (Higuain is listed as midfielder by the club), that is the major concern. Typicallyit is difficult to find quality forward help later in the draft, but there is certainly the chance to add depth.

Crew SC will likely have the opportunity to add to the back line with a number of candidates in this year's draft. Although it is not a deep draft, the defense is arguably the draft's strongest position. Many mock drafts, including SB Nation's own, have the Black and Gold taking one, if not two defenders.

Columbus may also look to find depth on the wing after the departure of 2014 contributor Bernardo Anor. The addition of Steindorsson will help on the outside, but it would not be surprising to see the Black and Gold grab another winger.
