Justin Meram and Bernardo Anor are back in the fold Crew SC announced today. The midfielders have re-signed with the team after both had breakout seasons in 2014. As usual, terms of both deals weren't disclosed.

Meram thrived in the left wing spot in Gregg Berhalter's scheme. He set career highs in goals with eight and assists with four while making 19 starts with 32 total appearances, both career marks. Meram also received his first callup to the Iraqi National Team in November and has already made three appearances.

Anor was a key piece of Crew SC's 2014 campaign. He appeared in a career high 27 games while scoring six goals, also a career mark. The Venezuelan played left wing and left back for the team, providing an attacking presence along the left side.

The moves close up the most immediate need on Crew SC's roster, left wing. Anor and Meram were the key starters for Berhalter as they split time. Meram locked down the starting spot as the year progressed. He responded with impressive goals as he grew comfortable in the role. While Meram cemented his starting spot, Anor was able to step into the left back spot while Waylon Francis was away with Costa Rica during the World Cup.

The signings give Crew SC significant depth on the left side of the field barring getting selected in next week's MLS Expansion Draft. Both players would have to be protected from selection.

The team currently has one other player out of contract, defender Eric Gehrig. Crew SC stated they are continuing negotiations with Gehrig.
