Crew sign Kei Kamara; Eligible to play in 2015

Columbus adds a goalscorer for next season.

Kei Kamara, a blast from the #OldCrew, returns to town as the #NewCrew rebrand comes to a head. The out of contract Kamara will join the team immediately, but won't be eligible to play until the 2015 season due to FIFA transfer and MLS roster rules.

The 30 year old Kamara brings a wealth of experience to the Crew. He's appeared in 193 MLS games, scoring 52 goals. He then went on to play 36 games between stints with Norwich City and Middlesbrough, adding five more goals.

Columbus has scrapped into the playoff picture without a go to goalscorer. Crew forwards have scored a combined five goals. Jairo Arrieta hasn't found his 2012 form and has three goals on the year. Rookie Adam Bedell has a goal in 14 appearances with Aaron Schoenfeld appearing in 13 games and adding another goal.

Kamara won't be able to impact the Crew's stretch run towards the playoffs, but is joining the team to practice in preparation for the 2015 season.
