Guillermo Barros Schelotto resurfaces through the tweets of former Dispatch beat writer for the Crew Shawn Mitchell.
Barros Schelotto's resume with the Crew is legendary. He led the team to the 2008 MLS Cup and won a league MVP award during his time here. He was interested in coaching after his playing career finished. He became the head coach of Lanus in June 2012. He pushed Lanus back up the Argentine Primera División table and was rewarded with a contract extension through 2014, but recent civil strife in Argentina apparently has Guille looking to come back stateside.
Barros Schelotto loved his time in Columbus and many fans would love to see him back with a role on the team. These recent comments will only fuel that fire as the Crew struggle to get into playoff position and Robert Warzycha on the final months of his 2011 contract extension.
