Columbus dropped points at home giving up a late lead, in a script much like 2012.
The Crew got the lead in the 68th minute as Finlay eared a corner kick. The hustle would pay off as Higuain would serve in an excellent ball that dipped into the edge of the six yard box. Glauber would slip his marker and power a close range header past Busch.
The Quakes would tie it in the 74th as Justin Morrow would take a ball unmarked on the right side of the narrow Crew defense and would close the distance and calmly slot it past Gruenebaum from 20 yards.
Both teams would push for a late winner, but niether would be able to find it.
The Crew move to 1-1-1 with 4 points on the year. Full report to follow.

Halftime saw neither team able to breakthough. Both teams got off five shots, but the Crew lead in shots on target 3-1 with Williams, Speas, and Oduro all putting shots on frame.
The best attacks in the first 30 minutes came down the right side as Speas combined well with Higuain and Arrieta to stretch the Quakes defense. Oduro would get a couple chances in the open field, but wasn't able to make San Jose pay.
Gruenebaum was capable at snuffing out any chances that got past the last line of defense, snuffing out a dangerous shot by Chris Wondolowski and covering up an Adam Jahn chance in the 27th minute.
