Columbus faces off against Philly in the second game of the Disney Pro Soccer Classic.
The Crew are back in preseason action today at 1pm against the Philadelphia Union in their second match in Orlando. It's another chance to improve fitness and start settling on a starting lineup. The team will be a nearly full strength as Jairo Arrieta and Eddie Gaven are back in the fold.
Thje opening game against Chivas USA is 17 days away and the team has another three games in Orlando and the Kirk Urso Memorial Match to tune up for the regular season. Coach Rober Warzycha has been ramping up the fitness of the starters and trying to settle on a lineup.
Today's game will be a chance to see the first team in action. Gaven and Arrieta will slot into their starting spots which will force some changes to the lineup. Dominic Oduro played in Gaven's spot on the right and it will be interesting if he retains his starting spot on the left or right, putting Ben Speas to the bench. Ryan Finley will likely move to the bench.
Today's game is also a chance to see how the battle for left back and defensive midfield plays out. Agustin Viana played at both at defensive midfield and at left back on Saturday, putting Tony Tchani to the second team. Tyson Wahl got the start on the left before moving centrally. Danny O'Rourke is also in competition for minutes. With little over two weeks to the opener, Warzycha will have to settle on a rotation quickly.
