Crew grab Notre Dame forward with the No. 9 overall pick in the draft and Denver defender in the second round.

The Columbus Crew bolstered their offense and defense with their two MLS SuperDraft picks. With the No. 9 pick, they picked up Notre Dame forward Ryan Finley and followed that up by taking Denver defender Drew Beckie in the second round.

Finley was among the more polished forwards available in the draft, with some scouts even comparing him to Robbie Keane. While that's probably a bit of hyperbole, Finley was a prolific scorer in college. In four years at Duke and Notre Dame, he scored 56 goals. In 2012, he pounded in 21 goals in 22 games. That was the third best scoring rate in the country.

Beckie is a bit more of an unknown. The 28th overall pick spent time at both outside back positions at Denver, finishing up his four-year career mostly as a right back. In his last two seasons, he scored six goals and had four assists.
