The Crew officially announced that Sebastian Miranda won't return for the 2013 season. This is not a surprise as Miranda has been seeking a return to Chile and is in talks with several Chilean clubs. Miranda played in 67 games in his two years with the Crew and scored a memorable 20 yard header against FC Dallas last year.
Miranda had been looking head back home throughout the month of December after the Crew declined to pick up his option. He's rumored to be talking with Chilean teams Universidad Católica or Huachipato. Miranda has previously played with Católica.
The team also was clear on the Milovan Mirosevic saga. They reiterated a recent Massive Report article saying that Mirosevic isn't going anywhere and he's under contract in 2013. Brian Bliss even referred to a phone call with Milovan's team.
I talked to his agent before Christmas. He actually called to refute the article.
Mirosevic is the former captain at Universidad Católica and has talked about returning to Chile when his contract is up. Apparently someone decided to kick off the rumor mill a bit early. If Católica are looking to get him early, they will have to pay up.

A team spokesman denied that Milovan Mirosevic is transferring back to Chile. Mirosevic has been rumored to be returning to his hometown club Universidad Catolica, but the Crew denied that there is a deal in the works.
Mirosevic was a key first team player in 2012, lineing up at forward, attacking midfield, and central midfield. He played in 26 games, scoring four goals and logging two assists in his first year with the team.
The Chilean has a guaranteed contract for 2013. Any transfer would likely require a fee to complete the deal. Catolica is reportedly short of funds and would likely struggle to meet the fee required to pry Mirosevic away from Columbus.
