Opening Slate of Games Sees Crew Start on the Road

The Crew face Chivas USA on March 2nd before opening at home on March 16th against the San Jose Earthquakes.

MLS released the home openers for all teams this morning. The Crew will start the season in LA against Chivas USA on March 2nd. The Black and Gold will face the defending Supporter Shield winners San Jose Earthquakes on the 16th at Columbus Crew Stadium.

The team's status on the second week of the season is unknown. The team had an off week during the 2012 season as they opened in Colorado before facing Montreal at home on Week Three.

There are several options still left on the schedule. Los Angeles, Houston, FC Dallas, and Vancouver don't have opponents announced during Week Two and the Western Conference teams all played at Crew Stadium last year. The Timbers, Chivas USA, and the Earthquakes also don't have listed opponents, but the Crew went to Jeld-Wen last year and Chivas and San Jose are already on the schedule.
