The Black and Gold announced transactions on 17 players today.

The Crew announced their player moves today. They exercised the options on 10 players and declined 7 others, leaving only 17 on the roster. Among the group that was let go is MLS Cup winning keeper William Hesmer, 2011 First Round Draft pick Rich Balchan, and back line stalwart Sebastian Miranda. On the list that's staying is Team MVP Andy Gruenebaum, Josh Williams, and Dilly Duka.

Team officials have said they are likely to extend offers to Mendes, O'Rourke, and Renteria and likely try to resign some of the players who had their options declined. The moves leave the Crew thin on the back line, with only three defenders under contract.
