Columbus Crew Vs Sporting Kansas City (PHOTOS)
Playoff hopes??? Still alive. Barely.
It took a VERY late Eddie Gaven miracle to salvage a point for the Crew from the jaws of Eastern Conference leaders Sporting Kansas City. The Crew's playoff hopes are on life support as they need quite a bit of help from other teams in order to make it to the playoffs. Final score was Crew 1-1 Sporting KC.
The game was preceded by a memorial dedication in Founder's park to the memory of Kirk Urso. A boulder, a plaque and a tree are now part of the Founder's Park area at Crew stadium in Urso's memory. The Crew also established the "Urso Heart Award" as a new category in the team's year end awards along with the "Kirk Urso Foundation" which will raise funds for research and testing for congenital heart diseases in athletes
