Halftime: 3 Minutes, 2 Goals, Crew Lead 2-1

The Crew nearly squandered an early Gaven goal as Nick DeLeon cleaned up a terrible sequence for the defense in the 39th minute. A couple failed clearances left the United with a free shot on Gruenebaum. He parried the shot right into DeLeon's path.

Columbus came right back with Higuain setting up Jairo Arrieta in the 41st. Arrieta bent a beautiful 20 yard shot past Hamid, but it rang off the post. The rebound however caught Hamid's leg and ricochet right back into the net to give the Crew the lead.

Houston is currently tied with the Philadelphia Union. That scoreline currently puts the Crew in 5th place in the Eastern Conference.
